* We have received reports that containership ABANOZ (IMO: 9121857) experienced a main engine failure in a position approximately 30 nautical miles off the northern coast of Bizerte, Tunisia on 02 September 2026.
* It is reported that the vessel lost propulsion and began drifting as a consequence of the engine failure and has been taken under tow by tug towards Izmir, Turkey, with an ETA of 18 September 2026 for inspection, and possibly, repairs.
* It is possible that General Average / Salvage and associated Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
