* We have received reports that bulk oil tanker, A SYMPHONY came into collision with general cargo vessel, SEA JUSTICE, at Qingdao Anchorage, China on 27 April 2021.

* It is reported that A SYMPHONY sustained breaches to its portside hull as a result of the collision. There are unconfirmed reports of a leakage of oil from the vessel.

* The tanker is reported to have been loaded with approximately 150,000 tonnes of bitumen blend for carriage from Sungai Linggi port, Malaysia to Qingdao at the time of the incident.

* General cargo vessel, SEA JUSTICE, is reported to have been on a laden voyage from Port Sudan, Sudan to Qingdao at the time of the casualty and may have been stowed with up to 1,878 TEUs of containerised and/or temperature sensitive cargo and up to 45,069 cubic metres of general cargo.

* It is possible that General Average / Salvage and Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo stowed on board either vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
